Values

At Denham Village School we actively promote British Values across which are promoted across 5 key themes. Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance of those of different Faiths or Beliefs.

Democracy

Denham Village School children have many opportunities for their voices to be heard.

Our school values are embedded in our curriculum and are reviewed and referred to throughout the year.

Rule of Law

The importance of laws, whether they be those that govern the class, the school or the country, are consistently reinforced throughout regular school days, as well as when dealing with behaviour and through school assemblies and circle time in class.

Individual Liberty

Within school, pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. Children are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and advised how to exercise these safely.

Mutual Respect

All members of the school community are expected to treat each other with respect.

Children learn that their behaviours have an effect on their own rights and those of others.

Tolerance of those of different Faiths or Beliefs

Members of different faiths or religions are encouraged to share their knowledge to enhance learning and respect. Teachers plan assemblies or ask visitors to class to celebrate different religious events.
