Snow Day

Information If there are Adverse Weather Conditions

During the winter we are mindful of the weather and have plans in place in the event of having to close the school due to adverse weather conditions.

We are aware that the timings of our decisions to close the school are critical for parents and carers, who are trying to get children to school and themselves to work.  Following heavy snow fall we will aim to make the judgement about the school closing as early as possible.  We aim to make a decision early enough for families to arrange childcare or in the event of heavy snowfall during the day; enough notice to arrange the pickup of the children.

Whatever the time of day, please be assured that the decision to close the school is only made after serious consideration with safety at the forefront of our minds.  The safety of the children, all the adults at school and of course all the parents and carers.

Our priority is to keep the school open whenever. A decision to close the school is made after careful consideration of a number of issues that include the condition of the school grounds, the staff’s ability to travel to school and staff to pupil ratios.

There are two ways parents can check on the status of the school.

The closures will be listed by 8am:
