Oak

Welcome to Oak Class.

I am thrilled to extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to you as we embark on an exciting journey together this school year. Your presence and support are invaluable, and I look forward to partnering with you to ensure a successful and enriching experience for your child in Oak Class.

Upper Key Stage 2 is a significant milestone in your child's educational journey, marked by growth, discovery, and new challenges. It's a time when they begin to deepen their understanding of various subjects, develop critical thinking skills, gain more independence and foster a love for learning that will stay with them for a lifetime.

At Denham Village School, we are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where your child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We have an exciting curriculum planned, filled with hands-on activities, creative projects, and meaningful lessons that will help your child explore the world around them and ignite their curiosity.

Throughout the year, we encourage open communication and collaboration between parents, teachers, and students. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for your child's success. We value your insights, feedback, and active involvement in your child's education.

As we embark on this journey together, we want you to know that we are here to support your child's growth every step of the way. Whether you have questions, concerns, or simply want to celebrate your child's achievements, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Together, we will make this year a memorable and enriching experience for your child.

Reading is at the heart of our curriculum and we encourage you to continue to read to your child. We are never too old to listen to someone read.

Homework will be sent home on Thursdays. Please ensure that they have time to complete it and return it by Tuesday. It will help them to consolidate their learning and give them the opportunity to recall past learning from previous weeks and years. They will also have the opportunity to find out key information about upcoming topics.

PE will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays but we would like children to have their PE kits in school every day.

I am very excited to be working with you and your child this year.

Best wishes,

Mrs Davis
