Governor Profiles

Mrs Jennie Holden  Chair of Governors

Jennie has lived in Denham Village since 2020 with her husband and two children, the oldest of whom has started at Denham Village School.

Jennie is currently full time mum. She trained in Dietetics and holds a PGCE in secondary Design and Technology- Food and Textiles. Jennie taught Food Technology before moving to Switzerland where she supported in an early years classroom and ran the schools pre and posts school provision and holiday clubs.

Jennie and her family really value the whole child approach adopted by Denham Village and the small reception class size made it their first choice of school.

Jennie is involved with the school PTA (parent teacher association) and is excited about the positive impact future fundraising can have on the school.

Jennie is passionate about her role as parent governor at the school and hopes to work with the team to provide the best possible environment for children and staff.

Mrs Seema Sharma  Headteacher

Ms Rebecca Ford     Vice Chair and Safeguarding Governor

Rebecca has two children, one is a current pupil at Denham Village School and the other will be following suit in 2021!

Rebecca lives locally with her husband and two children, and works in the public sector in Safeguarding adults and children.

Rebecca studied (culminating in theatre and music as a main focus including some on stage shows before working for the public sector) at an independent girls school, however she prefers the small and friendly school feel that Denham Village gives to her and her family!

When looking at schools for their eldest Jessica,  Denham Village was the top of their list from the moment they came to look around. Rebecca says of the school, “it was an instant draw for us, being outdoors and enjoying learning in nature is very important to us, so the forest school and the beautiful grounds the school has was the icing on the cake!”

Rebecca has enjoyed being involved with the school since Jessica started, and has recently been elected as Vice Chair of the newly formed Denham Village PTA (parent teacher association) where she hopes to help bring fun and new fundraising events to the school.

Mr David Matthew

David has 2 children, both of whom attend Denham Village School. And is married to Jo and they live in Harefield. They all love the school because of its nurturing, caring environment allied to all round excellence.

David believes 'Whilst academic achievement is vital, this is best realised through art, music, sport and perhaps most important of all, being in contact with nature. Denham Village School is providing all of these for our children'.

His career is in engineering and management; And has been running environmental trade associations and institutes for several years and hopes to bring these skills to my Governor’s role at Denham Village School.

Mrs Emily Harrison  Staff Governor

Emily joined the teaching team at Denham Village School at the start of 2021. In previous years she has been an Early Years and Key Stage One teacher at another local Primary School but her experience spans across all of the primary key stages. She has a real passion for promoting a love of learning in a safe environment.

'I am delighted to have joined the team at Denham Village School. I was initially drawn to the school after receiving a warm and friendly tour by Ms Nawaz, showcasing all of the amazing children and staff and their exceptional attitudes towards teaching and learning.

I have been teaching in a large outstanding Buckinghamshire school for 6 years where I developed my passion for the Early Years Foundation Stage. I truly love being able to create an irresistible learning environment for young minds to develop and grow. When not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my husband and two young children and we can often be found outside exploring and having fun.'

Mrs Edda Lindner

Having moved to Denham in February 2016, Edda was invited to become the Early Years governor in the autumn of 2016. Edda says 'I am very grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the life of the school and want to play my part in helping every pupil to have the best possible start to their school career'.

Her  background is in education having spent more than 20 years of experience working with children and families in different educational settings and churches.

Originally from Germany, herself and husband Christoph moved to the UK in 2000. 'Little did we know what adventures would await us here. Having experienced the many advantages of vibrant, smaller communities myself, I am passionate for every child in our school to experience a nurturing, loving and generous environment that will inspire them to shine with the gifts and talents they continue to develop'.

Branching out and growing together.

Mr Carl Ford

Ms Emily Dugan

Emily has two daughters who are both pupils at Denham Village School. She studied English at university and is the literacy governor.
Emily also attended a small village primary and found that going to a school that felt like a big family was a great privilege.
As a journalist focused on public interest investigations, she is used to looking at issues from every angle and brings an awareness of the broader societal and policy context the school is working in.
